Technology Law Section Executive Committee
February 13, 2009

o Meeting called to order at 7:42 am at Troutman Sanders

o Meeting expenses
• Approved unanimously by Executive Committee
o Section elections
• The Section is looking to fill the position of Secretary for the 2009-2010 year
• Any nominations should be directed towards the current officers: Gaines Carter, Chuck Ross, and Ben Young
o Website development update – Stephen Combs
• Membership information and accounts now set up
• Podcast
• 2008 TLI videos now available on the website and in podcast format
• Distribution to Section members
• Everything will go through the website
• Online registration for meetings
• Bar has already indicated that they are fine with this format, but we are going to double-check with General Counsel (Bill)
• Payments go through Paypal
• Will have to go through ICLE for their events, including TLI
o Journal Update – Stephen Combs
• New issue is on the Section website
• The Section plans to send an email out announcing the journal
• Web only format for now, but Section is considering PDF version as well
• Section may hold a vote on the website to determine future publication methods
• Has already started generated comments
o Section Finance Review
• We currently have $11,485 in our account
• By not physically publishing the Newsletter, the Section is saving a lot of money
o Upcoming Meeting Planning
• Litigation Committee
• Lunch event –Rescheduled for February 26, 2009 at Ravinia Club
• Notice will go out on Tuesday February 17th
o Spring Meeting/Social – Ben Young
• Braves game – May 2009?
• Ben Young will get an idea of costs and report at next meeting
• We need to get at least 15 people to commit to attending
o TLI 2009 Planning Committee – Chuck Ross
• 3 Module Chairs: Ben Young, Sarah Shalf, and David Keating
• We need firm speaker commitments by June
• Privacy Review: Jim Harvey and John Hutchins will co-host a presentation
• Possible topic on WordPress or open source
• Jim Harvey has some contacts and he will touch base with them
• Section is looking for additional topics that have never been done before
o Next Meeting Date/Location – March 13th at Troutman Sanders
